Crossfit Kids Dublin: Forging the Future of Elite Fitness

CrossFit Kids Dublin provides a Crossfit health and exercise program designed for kids and is scaled and geared towards their specific developmental, neurological, cognitive and motor needs.

CrossFit Kids is perfect for parents who want their kids to develop into healthy, fit, strong and confident adults that sustain a life-long love of exercise. In this way, common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity are avoided and reversed, and school grades have been seen to improve in the Crossfit Kids population as a direct result of participation in Crossfit Kids classes.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift or jump effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they play specific sports. All sports are specialized pursuits that are encouraged and complimented by Crossfit Kids training.  Our goal is to support the specialist, reward the generalist, and to encourage kids to be good at everything.

The CrossFit Kids program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any young person, regardless of experience or age. We use the same routines for 4 year olds as for elite secondary school athletes. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program.  The needs of our primary school and secondary school rugby player differ only by degree: not kind.

Our classes are structured according to age and experience. From age 3-12 last 30 minutes long, and run alongside adults classes. The class begins with an engaging warm-up, followed by a “skill of the day” and then a “workout of the day” (WOD). We always end our WODs with a FUN game, ensuring that our kids leave smiling, laughing, excited and looking forward to seeing their friends and coach at their next class. Our teens class will be registering interest soon and is aimed for kids aged approximately 12 upwards, is 45 mins long, also runs alongside adult classes, and is a class specifically designed for kids of this age-group.
We encourage 15 mins of “quiet time” at the end of class to avail of the increase in endorphins that improve concentration and absorption of reading material (hence improvement in school grades).
